Android Install Guide
Step-by-step instructions to set up PhoneLeash on your Android phone.
Install from Google Play
Download PhoneLeash from the Google Play Store and open the app.
Enter Forwarding Destination
Enter the email address or phone number where you want your messages forwarded. Tap Verify Destination and enter the 4-digit code you receive.
Grant App Permissions
Tap App Permissions and accept all permission requests. PhoneLeash needs access to SMS, call log, contacts, and phone state to forward your messages and calls.
Enable Notification Access
Tap Notification Access, find PhoneLeash in the list, and turn it on. This is required for forwarding WhatsApp and other app notifications.
Disable Battery Optimization
Tap Battery Optimization, select All apps, find PhoneLeash, and set it to Don't optimize (or Unrestricted). This prevents Android from killing PhoneLeash in the background.
Choose Usage Type
Select whether you're using PhoneLeash for personal or commercial use. Enter a contact email for account management.
Optional: Configure Forwarding
Set up additional features: WhatsApp forwarding, keyword filtering, contact filtering, and call notifications. You can skip these and configure them later from Settings.
Complete Setup
Tap Setup Complete. PhoneLeash will start forwarding messages immediately. You'll see a persistent notification indicating the service is running.
Tip: After setup, reboot your phone to ensure PhoneLeash starts automatically. On Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus devices, check your battery management settings to prevent the system from killing PhoneLeash.
