Forwarding to an Email Address (Recommended)

Forwarding your texts to an email address is the recommended setup. Email is accessible from any device, replies are easy, and messages are searchable in your inbox.

Important: PhoneLeash must be installed on the phone whose messages you want forwarded — not on a separate device.

Step 1: Download and Grant Permissions

Install PhoneLeash from the Google Play Store, or from www.phone-leash.com. Accept all permission requests — they are required for PhoneLeash to read incoming messages.

Step 2: Enter Your Email Address

When prompted, enter the email address where you want messages forwarded. Gmail works well, as do most other major email providers.

Step 3: Choose Personal or Business Use

Select whether you're using PhoneLeash for personal use or commercial / business use. The choice affects pricing — see PhoneLeash pricing for details.

Step 4: Leave Defaults and Finish Setup

Leave the rest of the settings at their defaults for now — you can customize them later. Watch for a confirmation message saying “PhoneLeash TRIAL [or LICENSED] version is registered”.

Step 5: Test It

Send a text from a different phone (not from your forwarding destination) to the phone running PhoneLeash. The message should arrive in your email inbox within seconds.

Troubleshooting

  • Check your spam folder. Mark legitimate messages as “Not Spam”.
  • Toggle between WiFi and mobile data to rule out a network issue.
  • Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus app during testing.
  • See It's not working for a fuller diagnostic checklist.
