It's Not Working

If PhoneLeash has stopped forwarding messages, walk through the checks below in order.

1. Has Your Trial Ended?

PhoneLeash stops forwarding when the 30-day trial expires. Open the app and check the status notification — it will show Trial, Licensed, or Paused. See How many days are left in my free trial?

2. Did You Forget to Renew?

Renewal invoices are sent about a month in advance. If a renewal isn't paid by the due date, your service may be paused a few days later. You'll need to renew before service resumes.

3. Is the App in “Paused” State?

Paused service won't forward messages. Common causes:

  • You manually paused it.
  • Your destination email address bounced (mailbox full, address typo, spam blocking).
  • An unpaid renewal invoice.

4. RCS Messages?

PhoneLeash cannot forward RCS messages. If you're missing some texts but not others, RCS is the most likely cause. See Problems due to RCS.

5. Are Filters Blocking Messages?

If you've set keyword filters or selected contacts to limit what gets forwarded, double-check that they aren't excluding the messages you expect. Try clearing filters as a test. See Keywords-based forwarding.

6. Email Forwarding Tests

  • Use a different phone (not the one running PhoneLeash) to send a test text.
  • Check your spam folder.
  • Try toggling between WiFi and mobile data.

7. Phone Forwarding Tests

  • Use a third phone to send the test (not your destination phone).
  • Verify the destination number was entered correctly.
