Sending a New Text from Your Email

You can start a new text conversation just by sending an email. This is useful when you're away from your phone but want to send someone a text from your number.

How to Send

• Send the email from your forwarding destination email address (the one PhoneLeash forwards to).
• Send to: phoneleash@phone-leash.com
• Leave the subject line blank.
• Begin the body with @ followed by a phone number or contact name, then your message.

Phone Number Format

Remove all spaces, brackets, and dashes. The plus sign + is allowed.

Example: @+12223334444 hello I am going to be late

Contact Name Format

You can also reference contacts by name, with all spaces removed. For a contact named “John Smith”:

@johnsmith hello how are you

If the contact has multiple phone numbers, the default / primary number is used.
