Contact Names in Forwarded Messages
When PhoneLeash forwards a text on iPhone, the email subject and body show the sender's name from your iPhone contacts — not just a raw phone number. So instead of seeing “Message from +1-555-0142”, you see something like “Message from Jessica Morgan”.
How to Enable It
During setup, PhoneLeash asks for Contacts access. Tap Allow when prompted and contact name resolution is on automatically. If you tapped Don't Allow earlier, you can grant access later in iOS Settings › PhoneLeash › Contacts.
What If I Don't Grant Contacts Access?
Forwarding still works — every text still gets forwarded to your email. The only difference is that the sender appears as a phone number instead of a contact name. You can change your mind any time in iOS Settings.
Privacy
Contact lookups happen entirely on your iPhone. PhoneLeash does not upload your contact list — only the matched name for each forwarded sender is included in the outgoing email, and only when a match exists in your contacts. See our privacy policy for the full data-handling details.
