Can I Forward iPhone Texts to Another Phone Number?
Yes — with some additional setup. Out of the box, PhoneLeash on iPhone forwards to email. With a small amount of extra configuration, those same forwards can be relayed on to a second phone number as SMS. Detailed step-by-step instructions are coming soon.
Why the Extra Setup?
iOS does not allow third-party apps — PhoneLeash included — to send SMS messages on your behalf. To get a forwarded text onto another phone, PhoneLeash sends it to an intermediary first (typically an email-to-SMS gateway provided by the recipient's carrier, or a service like Twilio), which then delivers it as an SMS to the destination number.
Once configured, every text that arrives on your iPhone also lands as an SMS on the second phone, within seconds.
Detailed Instructions
We're writing up the full setup as a separate help article — it should be published shortly. In the meantime, if you'd like to set this up now, get in touch and we'll walk you through it.
Native Phone-to-Phone Forwarding on Android
If a single-step phone-to-phone forwarding flow is important to you, PhoneLeash for Android forwards texts to another phone number as SMS with no intermediary, because Android allows apps to send SMS directly.
