Contacts-Based Forwarding

Choose specific contacts whose messages you want forwarded. Only messages from the selected contacts will be forwarded; messages from everyone else are ignored.

How It Works

  • Tap Add contact on the wizard screen and pick a contact from your phone's address book
  • Repeat to add up to 50 contacts
  • A message is forwarded if the sender matches any one of your selected contacts
  • If no contacts are selected, the contacts filter is disabled and PhoneLeash falls back to your other rules (keywords, all-messages, etc.)

How Senders Are Matched

PhoneLeash matches the sender of an incoming message against the phone numbers stored on the selected contact card. Both the country-code and local formats are matched, so it works whether the contact is stored as +1 555 555 1212 or 555-1212.

Combining With Keywords

Contacts and keywords are evaluated independently. A message is forwarded if it matches either a selected contact or a keyword. To forward only when both match, use just one of the two filters at a time.

Note: Contacts-based forwarding requires the Contacts permission. Make sure it's granted via Settings › Apps › PhoneLeash › Permissions if the contact picker doesn't open.

Removing a Contact

On the contacts wizard screen, tap the × button next to any selected contact to remove it from the list.
